This new year continues to present more challenges for creative people and every one else. We are encouraged to take daily walks for our sanity and I am blessed to live in an incredible part of the world where I can walk for miles amongst beautiful woodland, along river banks and over common land just a stones throw from my house.
So I have set myself a new project to get back to nature, to look, study and draw in minute detail things that I find or that I have collected over the years and are on display in my home.
This is my challenge, to take time to absorb what I see and draw in simple pen and ink then take my creations into the giclee printing world with digital artwork from scanned images of my hand painted fabrics papers and photographs.
It's incredibly theraputic spending time drawing with a lovely new set of pigment pens, but then what? Well, I have a camera, computer and printer so have started putting all the different methods together to see what happens and some little prints started to evolve. I now also have some fresh ideas for new textile works which I can't wait to get started on too.
Combining the texture of cloth, the free nature of hand painting on fabrics and the tight discipline of drawing from seen natural objects.
Prints are available in my Etsy Shop OfStitchandLine
